Lac Vieux Desert

Lac Vieux Desert is a 4,017-acre lake located just east of Land O' Lakes and just north of Phelps. Lac Vieux Desert straddles the border and extends north into Michigan. The lake has a maximum depth of 38 feet. Known as one of the best fisheries in Northern Wisconsin, Lac Vieux Desert has lots to offer to not only anglers but all outdoor enthusiasts.
With its spectacular fishing, anglers can expect to catch Musky, Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, and Walleye. Lac Vieux Desert also offers visitors three public boat landings. Two of them on the west side of the lake and one on the east side of the lake.
Being such a popular fishing destination, boat traffic is relatively high but does not feel like it given the size of the lake.
