Eliason . . . a Well-Known Name in the Northwoods for Over 100 Years

Our Great Grandparents, John & Jenny Eliason, came to St Germain in the late 1800's, when it was known as Farmington. He spent years as the Caretaker at Awassa Lodge on Lake Content, tending to the buildings, animals, lodge owners, and guests who visited there. They eventually homesteaded on Lost Lake. They developed Eliason's Murmuring Waters Lodge along the south shore and over time, their son, Oscar, and Oscar's wife, Lucille, took over the resort business and added more cabins. Our family's roots in hospitality continued for decades as Oscar and his family operated the bar and grill, entertained with live music throughout the summer months, scooped minnows, poured gas, distributed ice, and accommodated resort guests in the 22 cabins along the lakeshore.
