Face the facts; isn’t it time?

You’ve put in a long day and it sure would be great to relax your stiff muscles. Perhaps you need to reward yourself for great life achievement.
Whatever the reason, anytime is a great time to book a rejuvenating facial at Hibiscus Health Spa, LLC in Eagle River. The Spa is located in the Sixel’s Circuit Fit complex on the lower level below the movie theater.
Hibiscus is a mini-spa specializing in facials, dermaplaning, and hair removal. Spa owner, Tia Tryggeseth, graduated from the State College of Beauty Culture in Wausau in June 2019. For five years prior, she lived in Florida and the Spa’s name is a tribute to where she lived and people who influenced her life while there.
Enter Dave Sixel, a friend of Tia’s sister. He offered to rent her space in his downstair complex. Tia truly wanted to go into business for herself and said she was six when she started her first enterprise.
“I’ve always wanted to own my own business and I was a little entrepreneur ever since I was a little kid. I told my sister, ‘I’ll give you a massage but you have to pay me.’ So at six years old, I was giving 30 massages for a quarter because I didn’t know any better.”
Her official opening at Sixel’s is September 2. Dave feels that her emphasis on healthy skin is a good match. “We look forward to teaming up and bringing health and wellness to the community!” he said.
“In this area, there aren’t are a lot of estheticians and I think people are caring more about their skin and their skin needs,” Tia explained.
Tia has been an Eagle River girl ever since the age of four when her family moved from Rhinelander. She graduated from Northland Pines High School and went to college in the Milwaukee area for two years before moving to Florida.
When she returned she enrolled in State College of Beauty wanting to specialize in eyelash application. But she found her true calling was in facial care and she became passionate about the beauty specialty.
Currently, Tia specializes in facials and does some waxing of the eyebrows, lip areas, or chins, as needed. She does dermaplaning whereby dry skin and hair are exfoliated using a scalpel. This procedure makes the skin feel softer and helps diminish wrinkles, as do the facials.
Each facial is customized to the skin’s individual needs. Tia loves to emphasize the total relaxing nature of her procedures and loves it when clients slip off to sleep.
Tia recommends her Hibiscus Facial, approximately an hour-long, that includes extractions of facial imperfections. With every facial Tia does a cleanse, a double cleanse, and skin analysis. Then that is followed by a physical exfoliation that gets rid of the top layer of dead skin cells. Then there is a chemical exfoliation that goes deeper into the skin. Your pores are opened as you are getting steamed while being cleansed and exfoliated. She then moves into extractions, followed by a relaxing massage and a mask. Finally, a moisturizer is applied and the facial is complete.
There are different three different facials she offers, depending upon your skin’s needs. She will be opening the Hibiscus Healing Spa Wednesday, Sept. 2. Appointments are available Mondays 9:00 a.m. — 4:00 p.m., Wednesday 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., and every other Saturday 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
