Eagle River summer spectaculars!
This summer’s glorious weather continues and there is an endless list of activities found in Eagle River. The diversity of things to do is amazing! Even if you have done some of the things before — try it again! Chances are they are doing something new.
Pirates’ Hideaway: 1998 Highway 45 North. Here is a pirate-themed location that just knocks it out of the park! Yes, there are pirate ship rides to delight the young and old. You can take ship sailings that are open to the public. Or, call them and arrange to rent the ship for your occasion!
Captains Steve and his son Steve-O, are delightful hosts – errrr – as ornery a crew ye ever could behold. Scurvy lads, the lot of them and watch out — the wee ones could leave the ship marked (Captain Steve does temporary pirate tattoos on the children’s hands).
Either pre or post-cruise, enjoy a creamy treat at the Ice Cream Shop or stop in at the Gift Shop for a souvenir or a gift.
The Strauss’s spent off-season doing some remodeling and that included the Tiki Bar. The stage has an updated look and hosts musicians a few days a week.

Just south of Pirate’s Hideaway, stop at Kartway and Rocking W Stables located at 1980 Pleasure Island Way. The kids and the not-so-young-kids will have a ball selecting the type of Kartway cruiser just right for them. There is the Big Track, the Slick Track, and the challenging Oval Track.
After all that hot racing cool off on the bumper boats that accommodate multi-riders. For the wee ones, there are the Mini-Bumpers, part of the Kidzone.
Still not wet enough? Now here is a novel attraction —buckets are filled to the brim with water balloons and the object is to hit the holes in the roof to soak your opponent.
For the younger set, there is more in the Kidzone, filled with exciting activities for the wee ones. There are the Mini-Jeeps, scaled-down versions of four-wheelers. The Bouncy House is three different slides and two bouncy areas!
The sounds of waterfalls fill the air at the Little Falls Miniature Golf course. For a true thrill, enjoy the newest addition to Kartway, the Zip Line! Perfect for the first timer or even a pro at zipping.
A few steps from Kartway is Rocking W Stables. There is a wide range of riding styles available for both single and double-rider horses. There are even ponies for the little ones!
Whether you are a newbie or an experienced rider, guided rides follow trails in the beautiful woods. The rides are three-miles long and last 45-50 minutes. The experienced staff ensures that the ride will be safe and memorable.
Don’t miss their epic Christmas season sleigh rides available from mid-December through January 1 at Rocking W Stables. There are a variety of sleighs from which to choose, whether it’s just the two of you or you book your private sleigh for your group. The bonfire and hot chocolate make even the coldest day feel cozy!
