Delightfully frightful

As if the prospect of free candy on Halloween isn’t enough reason to celebrate, there are great parties for the adults as well as the children throughout the area.

Looking for Trick or Treat times in the Northwoods? Here is a list of some of the area communities. Some towns do not publish official schedules but host community parties for the children. The party information is listed with a link to webpages with specific details.

Conover: Halloween Party, Oct. 31, will be at the Conover Community Center 6:00 p.m. — 8:00 p.m. For more details click here.

Eagle River: Oct. 31, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Hallogras will be held at the Northland Pines Elementary School. For more details click here.

Land O’Lakes: A favorite Halloween event, the Land O’Lakes Zombie Crawl is Oct. 24 through Oct. 27. For more info click here, and scroll down to Oct. 16. 

Phelps: Trick or Treat is on Saturday, Oct. 26, 3:00 p.m. — 5:00 p.m. Families can choose to use a map with the locations handing out treats. Trunk or Treat is held in the Phelps School parking lot. Afterward, the Halloween Carnival is open from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. For more details click here.

Sayner: Trunk or Treat at the Plum Lake Library Oct. 30, 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Trick or Treat in Sayner 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Oct. 30.

St. Germain: Trick or Treat will be held throughout the community on Oct. 31 from 4:00 p.m. — 7:00 p.m.

Both children and adults love being scared to the core at Evil Fall House of Tormented Souls in Eagle River. This is the second year at their new location on Railroad St. and the passion for all things eerie has been delighting visitors for many years.

Evil Falls will be open this Friday, Saturday, and Halloween night from 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. and admission is $11.00. The proceeds are donated to the Northland Pines High School Drama and Theatrical Productions. To learn more about Evil Falls click here. 

For the adults, various establishments are hosting Halloween bashes. Don your award-winning costumes and head out for a mysterious evening of spooky fun. For a non-scary ride home, check with your destination to see if they participate in the free Safe Ride program.

Eagle River: Mud Creek Saloon Costume Contest on Nov. 1. Music starts at 6:00 p.m. with prizes given out every 30 minutes starting at 8:00 p.m. Great cash prizes for Costume Contest winners. For more details click here.

Sweetwaters Spirits and Resort hosts its Halloween Bash on Friday, Nov. 1, 9:30 p.m. — 2:00 a.m. Prizes for best costumes. Drink specials. For more details click here.

St. Germain: Sisters Saloon celebrates 25 years of its spectacular Halloween Party on Oct. 26. Costume contest and much more!

Loonatics Bar and Grill invites all to their Halloween Costume Party beginning at 8:00 p.m. There will be lots of drink specials and prizes for the best costumes. For more info click here.
