Jamie's Java

For those of you who have a strong affinity for coffee, do we have a treat for you! St Germain welcomed Jamie’s Java to town on June 2. For those who thirst for specially flavored hot and cold beverages, there is no better spot to satisfy your taste buds! Jamie worked for former Red Canoe owner Leslie Hiller for almost 10 years. When Leslie put the shop up for sale at the Sentry location, Jamie felt it was the perfect business for her.
Jamie has let her creative barista nature explode into a business where there is apparently no limit to the delicious beverages she can create. Currently there are more than 60 assorted hot or cold beverages from which to select plus dozens of flavor combinations.
For those craving coffee creations, she selects the perfect balance of flavorings and creamy additions to make scrumptious drinks. No matter the weather, hot and cold coffee combinations fill the menu to suit your cravings.
Of course she has rich Lattes and Cappuccino coffees, fresh brewed coffee and Espresso. If tea is your preferred beverage, try the London Fog or the Chai Latte. For those days that are extra chilly, a cup of hot cocoa, maybe with a flavoring, will hit the spot.
Looking for a cold drink? Try one of her flavored Frappes or a luscious Smoothie. Feeling like you need a boost? Jamie launched a new product line called Lotus Energy Drinks.
“We have created new Lotus Energy Drink specials new to Jamie’s Java and it’s going over very well. It’s just a fun alternative to coffee,” Jamie says this is a plant-based energy drink made from the coffee fruit and contains green coffee beans where the caffeine comes from. There are several different flavors as well as special combinations like Red Lotus, Orange Creamsicle and Cantalope plus way too many more to list!
And we can’t forget her special Latte combinations. A hot Peppermint Mocha is the perfect drink to put you in a Holiday mood. A Turtle Latte made with dark chocolate, caramel and hazelnut sounds just too good to resist.
“I try to bring in new flavors periodically and try new combinations. Right now we have a Pistachio White Chocolate that’s new. It’s really good!” Jamie explained. “We like to have something exciting for the customers.”
Also new at Jamie’s Java is her Nitro Cold Brew. Her coffee roaster is from Edgar, WI and they supply the Nitro Cold Brew.
“They are a small family business and they do a phenomenal job and I am so happy with them. They do the cold brew for 12 to 14 hours and they infuse some with flavors. It’s a really smooth, delicious, cold-brewed coffee. Letting it steep for a long time like that makes it really smooth and doesn’t have that acidity in it,” she described.
In addition to her beverage menus, thanks to her location in the Sentry Bakery, she is also able to serve her customers baked goods. Perfection! During the warm weather months, she also has a patio setting with tables and chairs where customers can have a delightful outdoor dining experience.
Jamie is no stranger to St. Germain and is a lifelong resident of the area. She is married to Scott Will and the couple has three boys. Her parents were also the owners of Schuit Furniture in Eagle River.
To Jamie, the shop is more than just a way to serve people great coffee. One of the things she loves the most about her business is being an active part of a community she truly loves.
“I love people and I try to encourage my employees to make it a personal experience when customers come here. I want them to feel very welcome and to chat for a minute. We want them to feel like they know us and we know them and that is a big part of Jamie’s Java.”
With this being the height of Christmas shopping season, Jamie suggests buying her fresh coffee by the bag, either ground or whole bean. It’s a perfect Christmas gift when combined with a gift certificate!
