The Healing Touch

This fall is off to a stunning start! The summer’s sunny days and generous rain has provided for healthy trees spawning a fury of fall colors. It’s a perfect time to hike trails or paddle across a lake lined with flaming trees. And it’s a great time to pamper those well-worked muscles with a massage!
St. Germain welcomed one of its newest businesses, Mind, Body, Energy Massage in June this year. Owner and Massage Therapist, Sheila Donmeyer and her husband, Dustin, moved to St. Germain in July of last year.
Sheila spent 24 years in education as both a teacher and a counselor in Polo, Illinois. The time came for her to move on to a different style of living. She said she left education at a happy time for her.
With an eye towards moving to the Northwoods, she chose to train as a massage therapist three years ago. She opened a very successful massage business in Oregon, Il. that she operates on a part-time business.
Opening the business in February collided with the advent of the health pandemic and delayed the official start and ribbon cutting to June.
Mind, Body, Energy Massage offers a unique and enticing menu of services that may alter one’s perspective about massage. Offering her services at very reasonable costs, she offers relaxing massages, deep tissue massages, foot and leg massages, aromatherapy massages, and an integrated energy massage.
She offers unique services such as an Amethyst Biomat massage, a Ladies Night Massage Party, and a Wedding Bliss package. She also will design custom packages to accommodate her client’s wants and needs. Be sure to visit her website for pricing and more details about each of these services at https://www.mbemassage.com/.
“I have taken little bits and pieces of what I have learned from other therapists and put them together to use in my practice,” she explained. “I’ve had a lot of massages over the years for my survival. I’ve probably gone to a good 30 plus massage therapists over the years.”
“Deep tissue massage is my forte and my specialty because that is what I felt helped me the most. I like relaxation and treatment (massages) versus the different modalities because you use different techniques. I use them all.”
“We absolutely love being here. One thing I have sincerely enjoyed is meeting so many wonderful people, I really have,” she said with a huge grin on her face. “I love meeting people. I love working with people and I seriously love helping people to feel better because I know how important that was for me.”
Sheila is open seven days a week for the convenience of her clientele. “Whatever works for other people!” she said. Mind, Body, Energy Massage is in the Business Connection office building at 1418 Highway 155, north of downtown.
To make an appointment call Sheila at 815-440-2902. “I am here for the ultimate relaxation experience. I am here to help,” is the message Sheila sincerely conveys to all her present and future clients.
