Colorama in all its glory!

For the 62nd year, this weekend’s attention turns to St. Germain and its fall celebration, Colorama! The great news is that the event is a is a lock (barring any unforseen occurance) for this year. Of course, everyone is strongly urged to be safe at the event. Wear masks, social distance, and wash hands often.
The festivities are held at the St. Germain Community Park Saturday, Sept 19 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and features all your seasonal favorites.
Start your day by stopping at the “Mums the Word” chrysanthemum sale that begins at 9:00 a.m. Get there early because theses gorgeous fall flowers sell out fast!
Need a fresh look for your fall home decorations? Maybe an early, dare I say, start to your Christmas shopping? Pick up garden-fresh pumpkins, gourds, Indian corn plus choose from a bevy of delicious garden produce. Yup, the Craft Show and Farmer’s Market is open from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Enjoy the start of the fall colors from your seat on a horse-drawn wagon ride through St. Germain’s breath-taking forested trails. The wagon rides are free and will run all day long.
One of the most popular and fun activities held each year is Pumpkin Painting that is featured from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Children can show off their creative skills bringing the orange orb to life!
One of the delightful aspects of Colorama is day-long music in the park. This year from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., enjoy Bernie Thompson. Bernie, who hails from Minocqua, has been part of the Northwoods music scene since the 1980s. His original tunes are about friends and family plus his passion for the outdoors is the subject of more than a song or two. He also recalls tunes from Tom Petty, The Eagles, Johnny Cash, John Prine, and many more.
Beginning at 12:30 p.m. Old Pine Road Band takes the stage. There is no denying that this band has taken the Northwoods to heart for their entertainment style. Showcasing past hits along with today’s show stoppers, Old Pine Road Band combines a touch of folk music and soul music for a truly great sound.
