While the townships are mostly self-governed, the county government oversees much of the day-to-day aspects such as zoning, property taxes, recreation, etc. There is a booklet published with the contact information for the elected township and county official, as well as the county and town offices, that is quite handy.
High Speed Internet
No longer considered a luxury, internet service is necessary to conduct business in a timely fashion. Fortunately, the county governments have made this a high priority. Though there is not yet 100 percent coverage, there are wireless services making inroads with affordable, reliable service. Depending upon the area you select, you can access high speed service through your telephone company, a wireless provider or through a satellite provider.
