Speed and beauty returns to the St. Germain Radar Run
Radar runs attract all ages!
It’s almost here! The St. Germain Annual Radar Run will return to West Bay on Little Lake St. Germain on Friday, Feb. 2 and Saturday, Feb. 3, The event is proudly sponsored by Discover Wisconsin and Boondock Nation.
The area’s biggest winter event of the season features the fastest snowmobiles on ice as they go up against the radar gun, clocking speeds well over 100 MPH. The event features two high-speed tracks - a snow-covered 600’ track as well as a 1,000' shaved ice track.
This event is not just for the pro racer. All snowmobilers can test their machines against the gun Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. under the lights on 660-feet of groomed snow.
There will also be more Fun Runs on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Runs are $5.00 each and registration begins at 12:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. at Hiller’s Pine Haven Registration.
For those who love the thrill of max speed - speed runs on the 1000’ shaved ice will be held on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and again that evening at 5:00 p.m. with Snow Outlaw Drag Racing.
Other feature events held on Saturday will be the Recliner Races at 12:00 p.m., and at 1:00 p.m., is the ever-popular Bikini Run, whose riders raise thousands of dollars for the Pink Ribbon Riders, the Plum Lake EMT Service and the St. Germain Fire Department.
Then at 2:00 p.m. the Snow Outlaw Winter Nationals Finale will be held on the 1000’ shaved ice track. There are 32 classes of speed runs for prizes.
Knockers Pizza Co. will host, the trophy presentations for the speed runs and the Bikini runs.
And there is more! Food and beverages will be served from 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., in the heated tent. There is also a vendors' tent offering great snowmobile gear. Enjoy day-long music both days!
Off-water parking is offered and complimentary transportation is provided down to the lake.
Business sponsors throughout the area, too many to list, have contributed to this huge event. Snowmobilers are invited to ride their sleds to the event and enjoy all the racing action from the sidelines.
