Arctic Warriors in St. Germain
There is a brand new winter event launching this Saturday, Jan. 14, in St. Germain. The Arctic Warrior Snowshoe and Winter Obstacle Course Races will showcase snowshoe races for adults and children and also a challenging winter obstacle race. The Wild Bear Grill and Pub at Black Bear Lodge will be the base for this fun contest for testing winter snow skills.
The races begin at 10:00 a.m. with the adult 8K Arctic Warrior Snowshoe Race on trails located at Little St. Germain Lake. Following that event, the 1K Little Warrior Snowshoe Race begins at 11:00 a.m.
Then beginning at approximately 12:00 p.m. the Arctic Obstacle Course Race starts. This is a super challenging course with 17 stops, each one with its own unique test. Among these feats, participants will tackle are the arctic stair challenge, frozen switchback climb, snowy tundra tunnel crawl and a frozen tire bike race. The Obstacle Race is a team event and teams of three to nine will compete.
At the end of each race, there will be hot soup and chili to warm the racers. Registered participants for the Snowshoe Race will be given gender specific long sleeved t-shirts and a finisher buff. The Obstacle Course racers will receive 1/4 zip sport T- shirt and a finisher buff.
Registration for individual adults for the snowshoe race is $30. For children under 18, registration is $15 for the Little Warrior Snowshoe Race. There is also a family registration package for $65 that includes 2 adult race registrations and registration for all the children in the family that are younger than 18 years old.

Registration for the 8k Arctic Warrior Obstacle Race is $50 and there is a $75 registration fee for the Ultimate Arctic Warrior Race which includes registration for both the 8k Snowshoe and the 8k Obstacle Course races.
The proceeds from the day will be shared with the St. Germain Non-Motorized Trail System Fund. This event is sponsored by the St. Germain Chamber of Commerce and several businesses from St. Germain, Eagle River and Woodruff.
