The magic begins!

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Whether you are cooking up a storm or planning to pack the car for a trip over the river and through the woods, this week is jam packed with an irresistible selection of events. ’Tis the season and the Northwoods is THE place to be!

First a shout out to all the deer hunters - hope you are having a great time and have plenty of venison for your freezers.

Up in Land O’Lakes, Friday, Nov. 25, launches Santa and Christmas Craft weekend. Be sure to pick up an entry card for the Reindeer Search $25 gift certificate at any downtown business. Get signatures from all the participating businesses and drop the completed form in the box at the Chamber office. Drawing will be held Monday, Nov. 28 at 10:00 a.m. and the winner need not be present.

Then at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, join in the Reindeer Cupcake decorating at the Land O’ Lakes Pharmacy. Afterwards, make your way to the Library and  join in the Ornament Workshop.

Santa heads to Santa’s Village after arriving at the airport. He will travel in a horse-drawn wagon to the Town’s Christmas tree across from the library. There will be cookies, hot chocolate, gifts, caroling and wagon rides available throughout the afternoon.

Saturday, Nov. 26,  kicks off at 8:00 a.m. with Breakfast with Santa at the Gateway Lodge Restaurant.. Breakfast is served on the hour at 8:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Call 715-547-3321 to reserve and don’t forget to bring your camera!

From 9:00 a.m. until !2:00 p.m., also at the Gateway Lodge, get a rare opportunity to visit with Santa’s reindeer.

Beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Land O’ Lakes Elementary School, 6485 Town Hall Road, shop for Christmas gifts and decorations at the Craft Show. The show ends at 3:00 p.m.

For a truly memorable start to yourHolidays with a genuine old time feel, make sure to head to Boulder Junction for their 28th Annual Christmas Walk, Friday, Nov. 25.

The day begins with the Lioness Craft Fair at 9:00 a.m. at the Community Center and lasts until 3:00 p.m.

At 5:00 p.m. everyone gathers at the Veteran’s Memorial Triangle where the Christmas tree is lit and there is Christmas carol singing. Carolers stroll up and down Boulder Junction’s magnificently lit downtown.

This event has it all - Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive in a blaze of fire engine glory at 6:15 p.m. and head to the Boulder Bear Motor Lodge to visit and take pictures with the children.

Businesses offer warm drinks and treats to their customers browsing the specials offered from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Take a break from shopping and enjoy a sleigh ride on Highway M North from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Christmas Karaoke will be on Main Street from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Don’t forget to stop at the Acorn Lodge at 5:00 p.m. for the Friends of the Library Cookie Walk.

On Saturday, Nov. 26, bring the kids to Christmas Kids Day in Boulder Junction at the Community Center beginning at 10:30 a.m. The kids will enjoy making crafted items, writing letters to Santa and shopping for gifts made by Santa’s elves.

From 11:00 am. until 1:00 p.m. Santa and Mrs Claus will have lunch with the children.

St. Germain adds a little healthy activity with its Jingle Bell 3K on Saturday, Nov. 26. The walk, run, bike, sled or what ever the selected mode of choice, leaves the Chamber office at 4 p.m., heads to Christmas Tree Lane and then turns down Sunrise Lane, taking the Bike and Hike Trail back to the Chamber office.

Stay for the 2nd Annual the "Lighting Up St. Germain" Christmas parade that begins at 5:00 p.m., starting at Paul’s Rent-All and ending at the Fire Department. After the tree lighting and carol singing, visit with Santa and enjoy refreshments at the Fire Station.
