The warm weather is fast approaching and with that comes calendars chock full of great community events.
Sayner boasts one of the first with their annual “Spring Stampede”. No, there won’t be long-horned cattle running the streets. This event brings together those who create and use decorative stamps and scrapbooking items.
This is an event for those who love these crafting styles. The convention and show are hosted by the Sayner Lioness Club. The two-day event is located Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church and at the Sayner Community Building.
The fun starts Friday, May 6 at the Shepherd of the Lakes with classes from 12:00 PM - 10:00PM. Participants may drop off their used stamps here during these times and up until 7:30 AM on Saturday, May 7.
On Saturday, May 7, the Community Buildings will be the conventions site from with booths selling used stamps, live demonstrations, and more from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
What a wonderful way to welcome May - Martinis in May, that is. This is the Third Annual event that is sponsored by the St. Germain Chamber of Commerce.
A gala party is held Saturday, May 7 at the Whitetail Inn beginning at 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM. Special Martinis are crafted by local establishments deliciously competing in two categories, The Judges Choice and the People’s Choice.
Last year’s winners were Spang’s Bombay Martini in the People’s Choice category and Clearview Supper Club for the Draper Martini in the Judge’s Choice
There are raffles throughout the evening and participants are offered mini-martinis and a ballot to vote for their favorite concoction. Light appetizers are served and there is music to make for a festive evening.
Tickets are $30 for an advance purchase tickets, $35 at the door and $10 for the designated drivers.
