Bauer's Twin Pine Retreat
For decades the lovely Lannon stone home situated on the corner south of downtown St. Germain sat unoccupied. Finally, in February 2015, Roger Bauer purchased the home that was listed by Bernie Kazda of our St. Germain office.
Bauer, who currently resides in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has spent a lifetime in the construction trades. He and long time girlfriend, Joanne, fell in love with the Northwoods after Bauer discovered the area on a snowmobile trip to Tomahawk.
With each visit, he traveled further north. But it was St. Germain that captured the essence of what he was looking for. A native Cedar Rapids, he has become disillusioned with the growth in the area.
He found the St. Germain home through his good friend and Eagle River Realtor, Al Siems. Bauer has experience of owning rental property and this is his first venture owning a vacation home.
Bauer designed the renovation that now features 14 bedrooms, a stone fireplace in the great room and a spacious dining area with crafted plank table Bauer built himself. Adjoining the dining room is a beautifully decorated kitchen furnished with the latest model appliances and custom cabinets he built.
Six of the bedrooms and three full bathrooms are upstairs while the remaining eight bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms are downstairs. There are washing machines and dryers on both floors.
Downstairs also boasts a stone fireplace complete with plenty of comfy seating. There is also a pool table and a large sauna that has both dry and steam heat options.
Don’t let the number of bedrooms fool you - these are large, well-appointed King and Queen bedrooms, including flatscreen televisions. This house may not look that big, but it is a huge 6,000 square feet.
This spacious facility is perfect for any type of group such as snowmobilers, for family vacations and reunions, sports interest clubs or any group that likes to travel together.
Bauer’s Twin Pine Retreat is available for four-and seven-night rentals. If the house is not rented, a minimum two-night can be available.
This is a non-smoking property and pets are allowed for a small fee.
