Thanksgiving weekend is the traditional kickoff for the Christmas season shopping and celebrating. What better way to spend it than exploring the festive celebrations in the Northwoods towns, just teaming with their unique brand of Northwoods flair? Look for the links that will connect to the individual websites for all the details.
Boulder Junction begins the weekend on Friday, November 27, with their 22nd Annual Christmas Craft Fair that is held at the Community Center from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM. In addition to the craft sales, lunch is served by the Lioness Club and there will be a drawing for the annual cash raffle.
Later that day, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Boulder Junction welcomes Mr and Mrs. Santa at the Christmas tree lighting. There will be carolers, sleigh rides, and shops will feature specials and treats.
Also from 5:00 - 8:00 PM is the Public Library Cookie Walk held at the Acorn Lodge, located downtown. There is a huge assortment of cookies for sale and also a sale of special holiday candles. The sale runs until it is sold out.
Land O’ Lakes invites every one to their Santa Weekend Santa Comes to Town. The fun starts on Friday at 11:00 AM at the library for craft shopping while waiting for Santa’s arrival at 1:00 PM. Santa will arrive at Santa Village across from the library for cookies, hot chocolate and more. Click on the calendar in this link for more details.
Also on Saturday, November 28, the little ones will love to have Breakfast with Santa at the Gateway Lodge in Land O’Lakes. Breakfast begins at 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Head over to the elementary school for the second day of craft sales.
Minocqua welcomes shoppers and fans of Santa to their Christmas in Minocqua, Saturday, November 28. Beginning at noon,view the ever-popular Christmas Village, the live reindeer, have pictures taken with Santa and join in the Christmas carols at the tree lighting and much more!
Eagle River marks their official Christmas Season on Saturday, November 28, at its Christmas Kick-Off. The parade, featuring Santa Claus, begins at 1:00 PM downtown. After the parade, children are welcome to visit with Santa at The Warehouse – Four Season Center for the Arts.
