Raising money for library not so trivial!
It must be a good time as evidenced by the returning 14 of 17 teams for the Plum Lake Library Trivia Contest that was held on March 5. This was the fourth annual contest and the proceeds of the contest raised money for the library’s elevator fund.
The event was held at the Plum Lake Recreation Building in Sayner. Thanks to Vilas County News Review Lifestyle correspondent, Wally Geist, who wrote the story for the paper. He also took this great picture of Team Eliason who came in third at raising money that evening.
First place went to The Might Eelpouts who initially tied with the Joy of Cooking Team. Geist reported that the tie was broken when they knew that the “L” in the US Navy Seals meant “Land”.
Ida Nemec, librarian, announced they also had received a $1,000 challenge grant from an anonymous donor against which the money raised and pledged that evening will be applied. Library President Chuck Figer, who was the evening’s MC said the fund was approaching its goal, however, “ The library will always be growing and improving and people like to come out and play trivia. It’s a win-win,” said Figer.
