The weather sure has given us a break getting ready for the upcoming season. This mild weather has been a blessing for those getting prepared for what the winter will bring us.
Before we get into the Christmas themed events, the Northland Pines School District invites the community to a special Veteran’s Day celebration that will be held at 9:00 a.m. until noon in the High School Fieldhouse. This will be held on Veteran’s Day, Friday, Nov. 11. There will be coffee, cheesecake and cookies served in the commons after the event.
A favorite way to launch Christmas shopping for many people is the St. Germain Christmas Bazaar. This event overflows with that infectious Christmas Spirit and has for decades.
The Bazaar is this Saturday, Dec. 12 ,from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., at the St. Germain Community Center. This year’s event will share the profits with the Northwoods Big Brothers Big Sisters and to the St. Germain Elementary School’s “All American Kids Club”.
Members of the school’s PTO will be on hand selling fresh garland and wreaths. Make sure to come early for these as they sell out very quickly.
You won’t want to miss the Women's Service Club and the Fish & Wildlife Club Bake Sale featuring irresistible home baked breakfast and desert items. Once again, this is a very popular booth so plan on arriving early for the best selection.
And what would a Christmas celebration be without Santa Claus? The wee ones and kids of all ages will delight in telling Santa, along with Mrs. Claus, their Christmas wishes. Be sure to bring a camera to capture your perfect Christmas picture!
Not to be over shadowed by all these great booths, this Bazaar features the best in arts and crafts. Artisans and crafters from all over Wisconsin and locally come to this event showcasing beautiful Christmas and other items. Make sure to visit the Gourmet Corner showcasing beverage selections, cheeses, breads, sauces and more!
Need a break from shopping? Soup (donated by Spang’s) and mouth-watering sandwiches will be on sale to fortify your shopping stamina for your Christmas lists.
While shopping, keep an ear open for the hourly bucket raffles. Great prizes donated by local businesses will be raffled off using the raffle ticket given to everyone when they enter the Bazaar. Just drop the ticket in the container at your favorite booth and cross your fingers for a little Christmas magic!
