Football season is coming to an end and so are the parties associated with them. Snowmobile trails are in rideable condition and our visitors are once again enjoying this are with us.
Last week we took a look at the wide variety of ice skating options available throughout the area. This week we are going to explore the indoor options scheduled throughout February. There are a lot of interesting things to do — maybe pick up a new hobby you have been thinking of acquiring.
Let’s take a look at the Campanile Center in Minocqua. The next event is their monthly Friday Classic Movie night, February 12 and the movie is Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo. Doors open at 6:00pm. Movie starts at 7 p.m. Admission is just $5.00 per person. Children five and under are free. Concessions will be available, including beer, wine, soda and popcorn. The following day, the Campanile will host its Circle in the Center workshop, “Discover Needle Felting.” The workshop begins a 9:30 a.m. and lasts for five hours. Class is limited to 12 participants and the fee is $45 which includes all materials and a light snack.
According to their website, “Students will learn several different techniques such as blending colors and adding textures, and will create projects such as small containers and ornaments. Then on Thursday, Feb.18, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.the Center welcomes The Phat Pack, The Best of Broadway. This show features, The Phat Pack, Broadway performers singing the great songs of Broadway, American standards, Las Vegas favorites, along with some hilarious new original songs — and share some stories about their lives and careers. Heading over to St. Germain, a couple of businesses give their customers a real education! At Green Rich Tea, there are monthly classes held to educate your palate about the wonderful world of teas. The classes are held monthly on Sundays and Tuesdays at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and are $20. To learn which days they will be holding February classes visit or call 715-254-1730.
Always want to learn how to knit or crochet? Liz Sutter, owner of Sutter’s Gold n’ Fleece, is a delightful teacher whose enthusiasm for working with yarn is contagious. She offers free classes on Thursday afternoons until 3:00 p.m. All she asks is that you buy your yarn and supplies from her well stocked, beautiful shop.
